A Success Story

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Willow Tree Karate in Newcastle is closing it’s doors, at least for the time being. Our Sensei and club founder, Charlotte Dean, is moving to London to start a new chapter of her life. In time, she hopes to start Willow Tree down there, and the club may be back in Newcastle when Senpai gets her Dan grade and teaching certificate!

We go out on a high. The week of Charlotte’s departure saw one final grading event and all three students from Willow Tree who went forward for grading were successful, including the club’s first 3rd Kyu, or brown belt.

All of us at Willow Tree Karate would like to thank Sensei Dean for her hard work and dedication over the past three years. A remarkable woman who has changed so many lives for the better. Oos, kanpai, and Tora Tora!

Grading Event on March 19th

A reminder that the next grading event at Newcastle Sendai Karate will be on Monday the 19th of March. Sensei Dean requests that anyone who would like to grade attends karate tomorrow evening for her to assess your readiness. Thank you.

For full details of the grading please refer to the Facebook event:

Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and a Wonderful New Year

Willow Tree Karate would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a wonderful New Year.

Regretfully there will be no training tomorrow, December 25th, or next week, January 1st, but we will be back in action on January 8th.

A huge thank you to everyone for their support over the past year, and many congratulations to all of our students who have made fabulous progress. See you all next year!
